What's being discussed in SC?

If you missed the last meeting or the minutes, here is a brief synopsis of what is being discussed.

  • Crystal Reeves, HR Compensation and Benefits Manager, brought SC up-to-date on the Compensation Study details. There will be manager training in the near future that will include the salary ranges, the rating tool and how the rating system was determined.
  • A request for basic computer training was discussed. The Staff Development committee desires to reach out to staff who may not realize these funds are available for professional development.  See guidelines.
  • The Staff Helping Staff initiative is moving forward. Blue and green tee shirts and polo shirts with the university logo and the "helping hands" artistic element will be sold to raise the necessary funds. These funds will be used for a one-time financial source for qualifying staff members.
  • January was election month to replace delegates who will roll off at the end of the fiscal year.  Nomination requests were sent to the staff listserv.
  • GC will host the next state staff council meeting Feb. 5 at the Macon Center.

In its representation of all staff employees, the Georgia College Staff Council aims to promote better understanding, increased cooperation, and open communication among all constituent groups on our campus.  While performing the duty, the Staff Council will endorse and adhere to the mission and goals of Georgia College.
