Mr. Raymond "Cam" Cameron is a member of Dr. Holley Roberts' junior early childhood education cohort. When asked how he feels about the program after having been in the cohort for one semester, he answered, "I definitely like the cohort, and I think that it has reinforced my passion for teaching. The faculty here has really given me a lot of insight. The best thing about the program is that, as a junior, you're student teaching two days a week."
"The faculty here really takes care of you and gives you the best preparation possible for becoming a future educator. Since class sizes are limited to only 20 people, you really get to know your professors. So far, the program has been a really wonderful experience. During fall semester my first placement was in a first grade classroom at Dames Ferry Elementary. My second placement was in a third grade classroom at Putnam Elementary. I am currently placed in a fifth grade classroom at Turner Woods Elementary school."
"If you are really passionate about teaching young children and want to have an impact, I absolutely recommend this program. I see people in the field who are products of GC who are successful and properly prepared. The field-based cohort model, which I understand to be fairly unique to this program, gives you time with the incredible faculty here and time to be in classrooms in the field."
